You don't buy the cheapest parachute.
Transmit is live. A transactional email API is the thing that has to work when you are not in the room.
A transactional email API is not a novelty. It's the thing that has to work when you are not in the room. The password reset at two in the morning. The receipt. The waitlist confirmation on the morning you finally tell people the name.
If that mail doesn't leave, you don't have a launch. You have a post about a launch.
People cheap out here, and it's rational right up until it isn't. The free tier, the shared sending domain, the pooled reputation. It looks fine in July. Then one morning the mail doesn't go, and the reason has nothing to do with you: it's someone else's list, on the same line, in front of yours.
You don't buy the cheapest parachute. You don't shop engines by the pound. The instinct is the same, and it isn't about luxury. Luxury is marble. This is: it starts in the rain.
So Transmit is picky on purpose.
There is no free tier. $20 a month is a retainer, not a starter pack. It means you are a real sender, and we are on the hook for you. 30,000 emails are in it, every month, and what you don't send stays yours: credits never expire while you're subscribed. $0.50 a thousand beyond that, said in the open. You send from a domain you own and verified, and nobody else's mail sits beside yours.
That's the mechanism. Here is the part that matters.
We can't promise nothing will ever break. Nobody can, and the ones who say it are the ones you find out about on a bad morning. What we promise is that you will know before your customer does. Every message gets a receipt: accepted, screened, delivered, or held with the reason, in plain words. Delivery events reach your webhook as they happen, not a status page an hour later.
Performance is not a dashboard full of charts. Performance is launch morning, and the mail already gone.
$20 a month. The mail goes out. If it doesn't, you hear it from us first.
